Hello Friends,

Feels like it’s time for an update.

I am happy to announce that we will once again be returning to the Center Stage Complex in Atlanta for our 6th Annual Thanksgiving eve Festival, “The Stuffing”. We have some seriously awesome bands playing this year and like always, it will be a total blast. Check out the line-up below.

We are also releasing a very special session we did 400 feet underground at the Cumberland Caverns with our friends at OurVinyl. This was during our HOPE tour and we think it turned out incredible. We also feel it’s worth plugging some headphones in and doing the whole full-screen thing for the full effect. Although it is difficult to explain, even in video, what an incredible venue that was to play.

We have just returned from a killer European tour where we finally made it back to Germany after 6 long years. I promise it won’t be as long next time. We were able to play in Italy, Belgium, and Switzerland as well and had a blast doing so. We finished everything off with two maddeningly short but very fun sets at Reading & Leeds Fest and all of you who attended made us feel very welcomed. So Thank You All.

As far as Manchester Orchestra goes, this year has been full of unexpected turns. As a unit, we have written three songs. Not sure we like any of them yet. We will see. I am so thrilled to announce that Robert and I have been working diligently on a film score for the movie “Swiss Army Man”. Something we both dreamed of doing and the experience has been incredible. To me, the coolest part about writing this score is that we aren’t allowed to use any instruments but our voices. Its been an extremely exciting process trying to create emotionally moving music with limited tools. Some songs have up to 150 vocal tracks on them and they sound pretty wild. It’s some of the coolest material I have ever worked on and we are really proud of it so far. I imagine we will be able to share music towards the earlier part of next year.

Our studio has stayed busy as well. I just finished co-producing the new “O’brother” album while Robert and I have been producing the new “All Get Out record”. Two very different records that we are equally proud of.

Kevin and I have written and recorded a new Bad Books song called “Lately”. We both love it and will be releasing it before the end of the year. Possibly shows to follow. I have a hard time not hanging out with him.

Right Away, Great Captain! (Andy Solo Project) has reordered the 4 Vinyl Trilogy Set that has been sold out for since 2012. At this point, they will arrive around Christmas so hopefully we can get them on sale soon after.

Last but certainly not least, our very own Chris Freeman was married a few weeks ago and the celebration was full of laughter, tears, dancing, and cake. We will celebrate our dear Tim Very at his wedding in just a few weeks. So that leaves us as 4 married men and a (heart stealing and stomping) baby. What happened? i don’t know, but God are we all really happy.

The plan at this point is to start writing a new MO record next year. We have no idea what it’s going to sound like but we do know that we carry a lot of weight on our shoulders to create something that is new and exciting for our band. We have never released an album we didn’t stand behind 100 percent and we won’t start now. Even if it takes a little bit (or a lot) more time.

So anyways, this is all a bunch of information but i figured we might as well just announce it all now so we can leave you alone for a bit. Several more shows this year, including a short run with what i like to call the “Crazy People Tour” with Brand New and Kevin Devine & The Goddamn Band.

Thank you all for your continued support for this band and the music that we create. We are fully aware of how fortunate we are to have loyal, music loving fans that have stuck with us through our career while we challenge ourselves to be better. God bless all of you.
